Professor Ugur ARSLAN

Samsun University Faculty of Medicine, Internal Medicine, Department of Cardiology

Education: He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (Eng.) in 2002. He completed his specialty education at Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology in 2007. He received the title of Associate Professor of Cardiology in 2014. Since 2011, he has been working as a Training Supervisor in the Cardiology Clinic of Samsun Training and Research Hospital. In 2021, he received the title of Professor from the University of Health Sciences.

Research Areas: He has many international studies on coronary artery disease, heart valve diseases, pacemakers, and heart failure. He has extensive experience in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI), coronary complex procedures (coronary CTO and bifurcation procedures), cardiac resynchronization therapy, pacemaker, and ICD implantation.

Selected Studies: There are a total of 59 studies, 19 of which are the first titles, published within the scope of SCI-Expanded. 46 of these works are clinical studies, 13 of which are the first names. The mentioned works have been cited more than 500 times by the articles published in journals within the scope of SCI-Expanded. Professor Ahmet KARAGOZ

Internal Medicine, Department of Cardiology, Samsun University Faculty of Medicine

Education: Prof. Dr. Ahmet KARAGÖZ was born in Samsun in 1982 and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He completed his cardiology specialization in Ankara Numune Hospital Cardiology Clinic in 2011. He was appointed as an assistant professor at Giresun University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology in 2014 and received the title of associate professor of cardiology in 2016. He undertook the duties of Giresun University Faculty of Medicine Cardiology Department Head and Clinical Administrative Responsible. Receiving the title of Professor from Giresun University on 14.06.2021, Dr. Ahmet KARAGÖZ was appointed as Professor Doctor to Samsun University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology on 25.07.2022.

Research Areas: Prof. Dr. Ahmet KARAGÖZ has carried out many academic activities at home and abroad. From 2011-2013, he worked as a field researcher for the Heart Disease and Risk Factors in Turkish Adults (TEKHARF) project. He gave lectures at the Faculty of Medicine at Ostrava University (Czech Republic) in 2015 and received training on cardiac resynchronization therapy implantation techniques at DRK Kliniken Berlin Köpenick Hospital (Germany) in 2017. He took part as a speaker at the Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics, Advanced Endovascular and Coronary Intervention Global Summit (C3) conferences held in Orlando (United States) in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. He has also served as a panelist, speaker, and session chair in many national and international meetings. European Society of Cardiology (ESC), Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA), European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (EACPR), European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) He is an active member of many national and international scientific organizations such as the Heart Failure Association (HFA) Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), the Turkish Society of Cardiology, and the Cardiovascular Academy Association. In 2021, he was selected as a fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, one of the world’s leading interventional cardiology associations. He has many national and international studies on the epidemiology of heart diseases, new experimental approaches in the treatment of heart failure, coronary and peripheral vascular diseases, rhythm disorders, and interventional treatment of heart failure. Complex coronary interventions such as chronic total occlusion, bifurcation procedures, peripheral vascular interventions, cardiac resynchronization therapy, pacemaker and ICD implantation, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI) are of special interest.

Professor Osman Can YONTAR

Internal Medicine, Department of Cardiology, Samsun University Faculty of Medicine

Education: He was born in Samsun in 1979 and graduated from 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. He completed his cardiology residency at Cumhuriyet University, Faculty of Medicine, in 2009. He received the title of Associate Professor of Cardiology in 2015. He has been working at Samsun Training and Research Hospital since 2016. He was appointed as Professor Doctor to Samsun University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology on 04.11.2022.

Research Areas: He is a member of Turkish Cardiology Association, Europran Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), Asian Heart Rhythm Association (AHRA). Rhythm disorders, cardiac electrophysiology, complex mapping systems and ablation therapy are of special interest. The Electrophysiology Laboratory, where he has been working since 2021, has been accepted as a Center of Excellence by international organizations. He also has extensive experience in complex coronary interventions, pacemaker and ICD implantation, and cardiac resynchronization therapy.

Selected Works: There are 55 research works in peer-reviewed journals within the scope of SCI and SCI-expanded, 27 research works in national peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters and national/international oral presentations and poster presentations. Education: Rüstem YILMAZ was born in 1979 and graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. He completed his specialty training in İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Department of Cardiology in 2009. He worked as a cardiology specialist at Tokat Erbaa State Hospital between 2009-2011. Between 2011-2022 Samsun Gazi State Hospital Cardiology Clinic Specialist. He worked as a specialist between 01.01.2022 and 20.03.2022. Dr. Rüstem YILMAZ was appointed to Samsun University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology on 11.08.2022. He was appointed as a lecturer.

Research Areas; He has international studies on pacemakers, heart rhythm disorders, and artificial intelligence applications in cardiology.
