Education: She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine. She received her specialty training in Medicine at the General Surgery Clinic of Istanbul Kartal Doctor Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital. She received the title of Associate Professor at Health Sciences University Samsun Training and Research Hospital in 2017. In 2022, she was appointed as a Professor at Samsun University, Department of General Surgery.

Research Areas: Minimally invasive approaches in acute appendicitis and abdominal hernia surgery, surgical approaches that affect the quality of life of patients with advanced gastric cancer, long-term outcomes of patients operated for esophageal and rectal cancer, factors affecting outcomes in patients with acute diverticulitis, appendicitis and abdominal sepsis. Current approaches in breast and endocrine surgery. Current study and research topics include the measures required for safe cancer surgery in the COVID-19 outbreak, the timing of elective surgery in patients with COVID-19, and the determination of roadmaps and algorithms for surgical patient safety in other possible outbreaks.

Research Areas: His research interests include the effect of Ramadan fasting on quality of life in patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy (Tube Stomach) surgery, studies on bariatric surgery including a new technique approach to the first trocar insertion in bariatric surgery, studies on objective structured clinical examination in the evaluation of medical school students, studies on colon, rectum breast cancer, management in malignant bowel obstruction, and the role of surgery.

Research Areas: His studies are continuing on the evaluation of the efficacy of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in geriatric patients, the factors affecting pancreatic fistulas developing after pancreaticoduodenectomy and the role of albumin/globulin ratio in predicting the development of postoperative pancreatic fistula, treatment approaches in patients with granulomatous mastitis, comparison of hernia sac ligation and invagination in indirect inguinal hernias. His other current study and research topics include the effects of the restrictions and closure applied in the COVID-19 pandemic on emergency general surgery consultations and surgeries, the timing of elective surgery in patients with COVID-19, and the determination of treatment algorithms for surgical patients in case of epidemics.
