Education: She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine. She received her specialty training in Medicine at the General Surgery Clinic of Istanbul Kartal Doctor Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital. She received the title of Associate Professor at Health Sciences University Samsun Training and Research Hospital in 2017. In 2022, she was appointed as a Professor at Samsun University, Department of General Surgery.

Research Areas: Minimally invasive approaches in acute appendicitis and abdominal hernia surgery, surgical approaches that affect the quality of life of patients with advanced gastric cancer, long-term outcomes of patients operated for esophageal and rectal cancer, factors affecting outcomes in patients with acute diverticulitis, appendicitis and abdominal sepsis. Current approaches in breast and endocrine surgery. Current study and research topics include the measures required for safe cancer surgery in the COVID-19 outbreak, the timing of elective surgery in patients with COVID-19, and the determination of roadmaps and algorithms for surgical patient safety in other possible outbreaks.

Selected Studies: She wrote her specialty thesis on “The effect of taurolidine on experimental thrombus formation” (2005). She supervised the medical specialty thesis on “Clinical value of CXCL5 in the identification of colorectal cancer” (2014-2015). “Comparison of endoloop and hemoloc clips for closure of appendiceal stump in laparoscopic appendectomy“ (2013), “The effect of laboratory risk markers on mortality in patients with necrotizing fasciitis” (2014), “Comparison of absorbable and non-absorbable mesh fixators in laparoscopic abdominal hernia repair“ (2015), “Effectiveness of gastrectomy in advanced gastric cancer” (2015), “Effectiveness of WSES Guidelines in the management of patients with acute diverticulitis“, (2016), “Safe use of antimicrobial agents in surgery“ (2017), “Clinical value of CXCL5 in the identification of colorectal cancer” (2018), “International observational study in the treatment of acute appendicitis“ (2019), “Safe cancer surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic” (2020), “Safe surgery timing in patients with COVID-19” (2021) are some of her articles.
